The climate of Trentino
From pristine Lake Garda to mighty glaciers
You hardly can describe the climate characterising the Trentino region without talking about its geographic position and rich variety of landscapes. Due to the latter - and an overall altitude difference of 2,850 m - the Trentino region actually features a fairly wide range of climatic conditions.
While the areas surrounding Lake Garda and Vallagarina boast a rather mild and Mediterranean climate, it is a fairly Alpine climate with short summers and cold winters characterising the places at higher altitudes, mountains and glaciers. The major part of the Trentino region however features a moderate climate, with gentle summers, snowy winters and an average level of humidity.
