Aeronautics Museum

The Gianni Caproni Aeronautics Museum - where the dream of Icarus comes true

Dedicated to the Italian engineer Gianni Caproni, the Aeronautics Museum of Trento opened its doors in 1992 displaying a total of 17 historical aircrafts. The museum was originally founded in 1929 by Caproni himself, the Trentino aviation pioneer, but due to World War 2 it had to be closed for some years and rebuilt.

In addition to a rich variety of historical aircrafts, known as some of the rarest and most fascinating ones all over the world, the museum features numerous engines, pieces of zeppelins, propellers, a rich thematic library and a technical and photographic archive.

Every year, interactive astronomy exhibitions, air shows and airplane model exhibitions are scheduled in close collaboration with several aeronautic organisations and enterprises.
