Museums of Uses and Customs of the Trentino people
The ancient traditions of Trentino illustrated in San Michele all’Adige
Housed at the Augustinian monastery of San Michele all’Adige - which dates back to the first half of the 12th century -, the museum boasts some 40 halls with almost 9,000 manufactured items dedicated to the rural life in the Trentino mountains. The museum itself was founded in 1968 by Italian ethnographer Giuseppe Sebesta.
With regards to ethnography, the museum is one of the most valuable ones in all of Italy. Every year, the Permanent Workshop on Alpine Ethnography is organised here.
