Vezzana

This mountain is the highest peak of the Pale di San Martino group

This imposing mountain peak (3,192 m a.s.l.) towers above the Passo Rolle and is located in the very north of the mountain range in the Valle di Primiero valley. Moreover, the Passo Travignolo divides the Cima Vezzana from the Cimon della Pala.

If you would like to scale this mountain, there is a path which is considered to be of moderate difficulty, but requires good stamina and alpine experience. Once reached the mountain peak you will forget any effort, as the view on the surrounding alpine world is fantastic.

The first ascent of the Cima Vezzano took place in 1878. When Douglas William Freshfield and Charles C. Tucker climbed this mountain, they did not even divine that this was the highest peak of the Pala mountain group, as in those times the nearby Cimon della Pala was considered to be the highest mountain.
