Cycling tracks

Pedalling all over the Trentino region

Trentino is in the lead when it comes to cycling tracks. For several years the province of Trento and its municipalities have worked hard to improve the tracks and to create new ones. It doesn’t come as a surprise, thus, that today there is a comprehensive network of cycling tracks taking you across the entire region: throughout rich green lowlands and up the surrounding mountains.

The most famous and main cycling track of the entire Val d’Adige Valley is probably found in the Vallagarina Valley, along the banks of the Adige river. This is the ideal trail for relaxing full-day trips by bike. Northwards, the path continues moreover throughout beautiful South Tyrol and winds further trough Val Venosta and across Passo Resia to Austria.
Another cycling track is found in Val di Sole, taking you across pastures and woods from Pejo to Cles. Those who would like to start their bike tour in Trento, can take advantage of the historical train Trento-Malè. The latter takes you to the upper valley, from where you can cycle back to town.
Val Rendena boasts a cycling track that connects Pinzolo with the hamlet of Villa Rendena, located only few kilometres from Tione. From Tione a further cycling track takes you to Lake Ponte Pià.
Along the Chiese river and the Giudicarie Valleys winds another cycling track, which connects Condino with Lake Idro in Lombardy.
The “Valle del Sarca” cycling track stretches in between Sarche di Calavino and Riva del Garda on a length of 20 km. Parts of the track - between Dro and Pietramurata - are being rebuilt and thus closed at the moment. You can however avoid this obstruction by cycling on the state road at those stages.
In the surroundings of Lake Garda you will find another cycling track called Mori-Torbole and connecting Vallagarina with Altogarda. But watch out: On the way back, this is from Torbole to Mori, the track is rather exhausting as you have to cross Passo S.Giovanni (from 60 to 270 masl).
The cycling track in the Valsugana Valley connects the towns of Pergine and Pianello and leads further to the border with the region of Veneto. From an altitude of 500 m in Caldonazzo the track takes you to 200 m and covers a distance of 45 km.
The most challenging cycling tour of the Trentino region winds throughout Val die Fiemme and Val di Fassa and takes you from Molina di Fiemme at 800 m across Pedrazzo to Pozza di Fassa at 1,300 m.
Last but not least there is a 11 km long cycling track in Valle Primiero, from Masi di Imer to Fiera di Primiero.
