A famous alpenstock at the centre of the Sellaronda

The Sella mountain plateau is surrounded by the four Dolomite passes Passo Gardena, Passo Pordoi, Passo Sella and Passo Campolongo. Moreover it is situated in the north of the Marmolada and in the east of the Gruppo Sassolungo as well as between Val di Fassa (Trentino), Livinallongo (Belluno), Val Gardena and Val Badia (South Tyrol).
From the highest peak of the Gruppo Sella, the Piz Boé, you can enjoy a splendid view on the Val di Fassa. In the western part of the alpenstock, which belongs to the Dolomites, there are the famous Torri di Sella, which are very popular with climbers and alpinists.

In winter the Gruppo Sella is at the centre of the popular Sellaronda, a tour on skis which takes you round the impressive alpenstock and provides a spledid view on its peaks. In summer, however, the tour round the Gruppo Sella is a challenge for all bikers.
Famous refuges in the Gruppo Sella are the Rifugio Forcella Pordoi, Rifugio Maria and Rifugio Boé. Popular fixed rope routes are the Ferrata Tridentina, Ferrata delle Mèsules, Ferrata Piazzetta and Ferrata della Trincee.
