Sellaronda Bike Day 2010

On Sunday, June 27, 2010 the four Dolomite passes Passo Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and Campolongo are closed for motorized vehicles. Cyclists are going to rule the road on this day.

On June 27, 2010, in Val di Fassa, strictly speaking in Canazei, thousands of mountain bikers and cross cyclists are going to meet for the 5th edition of the Sellaronda Bike Day. This is the day when the four Dolomite passes Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and Campolongo are closed for motorized vehicles from 8.30 to 3.30 pm and this is also the day when cyclists are going to rule the roads round the Sella alpenstock. Take the opportunity to experience this fabulous piece of land free from exhaust fumes and engine noise.

In 2009 some 15,000 cyclists took part in this unforgettable day and also in 2010 thousands are again going to participate. The mountain refuges and taverns along the course are going to offer special cyclists’ dishes and also a special T-Shirt is sold. The course is 55 km long and includes an altitude difference of 1,780 m, but you can also do a shorter course.
