Faedo

The most impressive witness of the animated past of Faedo is undoubtedly Castle Monreale, which is also referred to as "royal mountain", at the place of which in Roman times there was a castle complex. The original castle dates back to the year 1238 AD. The battles between German and Roman people, the Longobard and Bavarian settlements in early Middle Ages as well as colonialization have greatly contributed to the growth of the village along the famous Via Claudia Augusta.
