Segonzano

25 km from the city of Trento lies Segonzano, a number of lovely hamlets located at altitudes from 490 to 970 metres a.s.l

The municipality of Segonzano is spread all over the large hills and slopes of the so-called Dosso di Segonzano and Ceramont, tree-covered mountains that separate Val di Cembra from the Piné plateau. It includes some 15 hamlets, featuring some fairly different surroundings.
Vines and vineyards are for instance characterising the lower area of Segonzano, spread across the sunny hills above the Avisio river. This is also the reason why the place mainly lives from agriculture. Other important branches are woodworking, handicraft and the porphyry industry.
Of major historical interest are the parish church of Stedro and the St Nicholas Church in Sevignano. In Sabion you will find the road taking you to the so-called "Santuario della Madonna dell'Aiuto", a sanctuary dedicated to Virgin Mary.
A special natural highlight are the earth pyramids of Segonzano, with heights of up to 20 metres.
