Valda
Lakes or mountains, summer or winter, Valda is a village that offers pure relaxation.
Valda is located at an altitude of 1,000 m asl at the slopes of the Monte Novaline. The districts of the villages are composed of the so-called “cromèl“ that are accessible via house and entrances and farms. The village extends along the main road, this is also where you can find the town-hall, the school and other central facilities.
According to the tradition, Valda boasts five fountains, which where once used for drinking and washing. In the centre you can admire the Fontana del Giubileo, established in 1908 to the honour of Franz Joseph of Habsburg on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his empire.
Also worth to be visited is the S. Paolo church with its original Via Crucis of the Val di Fiemme. From the church square, however, you can enjoy a great view on the forested area on the other side of the Avisio river. This is also where the Madonna dell’Aiuto di Segonzano strikes the view. At 1,300 m asl, however, there is the Lago di Valda lake, which is an oasis of calm.
If you like village fairs, however, you should not miss the “Festa del Lampone“, a celebration that is dedicated to the raspberries and the grapes that have just been harvested.
