Ponte Arche

Ponte Arche

Ponte Arche with its Comano thermal baths connects three vast high-plateaus in this holiday area: Bleggio, Lomaso and Banale.

Those travelling to the holiday resort Ponte Arche in the south west of Trentino can look forward to a healthy alpine climate and a pretty natural scenery between Lake Garda and the Brenta Dolomites.

Its name goes back to a former bridge crossing the Sacra river (in Italian “ponte” means bridge) and connecting the Bleggio plateau to the Banale plateau. “Ponte delle tre arche”, which literally translated means “bridge over three arches”, that’s how it used to be called. Still today a lovely walking path takes you to the nearby village of Terme di Comano, known for its therapeutic springs.

Ponte Arche is the ideal place for long and relaxing hikes: From Comano, for instance, a panoramic trail takes you to Monte Casale, one of the most stunning viewpoints of the Giudicarie valleys. From here you can gain an unforgettable view of seven mountain lakes and the mighty peaks of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello-Presanella mountains.

Since 2010 Ponte Arche is administrative centre of the new municipality of Comano Terme, which unites the former municipalities of Bleggio Inferiore and Lomaso.
