Padergnone
The holiday resort Padergnone is located in the surroundings of the Toblino and Santa Massenza lakes.
In Valle dei Laghi, the “lake valley”, there is the little village of Padergnone located between the Paganella and Monte Bondone mountains. This is where findings that are significant from an archeologic point of view were made. The landscape round the vilage is characterized by hills and thanks to the mild climate also olive trees grow.
Padergnone is considered to be the cradle of viticulture in Trentino: In 1909 the agrarian consortium has been founded in order to save the grapevines from vine pest, a vermin. Moreover this is where the famous “Vino Santo” (Holy Wine) was produced for the first time. The wine bears this name due to the fact that this wine was pressed in the “Holy Week”.
