Terlago
Only ten minutes from the city of Trento there is the holiday resort Terlago, known above all for the homonymous lake and the Paganella and Gazza mountains.
Those travelling from the city of Trento towards Lake Garda will soon arrive to a typical Italian village named Terlago. It got its name from the Latin word “trilacum”, meaning “the tree lakes”. And Terlago does indeed feature some three lakes: the so-called Lago Santo and the lakes of Lamar and Terlago. The latter is a lovely bathing lake, which attracts numerous visitors and fishers all over the year.
The surrounding mountains provide a rich network of hiking trails, which are ideally-suited to mountain bike tours and horse riding. Those interested in culture should pay a visit to the castle of Terlago and the medieval Braidone tower. Worth seeing are also Palazzo Tabarelli de Fatis, Palazzo Cesarini Sforza, Palazzo Altenpurger, Palazzo Mamming and the Palazzi Mazzonelli and Paissan.
The hamlets Monte Terlago, close to the lake of Lamar, and Colevo, are part of the municipality of Terlago.
