Val di Fiemme
Val di Fiemme is one of the main valleys of the Dolomites, stretching along the Avisio river and in between the Lagorai and Latemar mountains.
From the very first moment you will feel how much the locals love their valley. This and their longing for freedom and independence led to the foundation of the self-governing “Magnifica Comunità della Val di Fiemme” in the 12th century. Literally translated as the “magnificent community of Val di Fiemme”, it exists even today and is for instance responsible for administrating the Panaveggio wood, one of the most important and beautiful woods of Italy and Europe.
Enjoy winter sports in the five skiing areas as well as the two cross-country ski centres. Looking for a challenge? Try the “Olympia” ski slope at Alpe di Cermis, which is a 7.5 km long run featuring an altitude difference of 1.350 m. The Ski centre Latemar is one of the most renowned throughout the Dolomites, featuring 17 lift facilities and 50 km of well groomed slopes. Bellamonte – Alpe Luisa, Passo Lavazzè - Passo Oclini, Passo Rolle as well as the cross-country ski centre at Tesero make your winter holidays even more varied.
