Daiano

This typical Val di Fiemme village is, together with Varena, situated at the foot of the Corno Nero.

Not far from Varena, located in the heart of the Val di Fiemme, there is Daiano, one of the most sunny and calm villages throughout the valley. From Cavalese, Daiano can be reached by car via S.S. 620, or also from San Lugano. One of the most striking buildings in Daiano is Castel Croda, a majestic castle built in Gothic construction style. Worth seeing are also the fountains in Dainao, Varena and Cavalese, which were made of one single porphyry block from 1875 to 1878, after the devastating fire which destroyed parts of Daiano. However, the surrounding skiing areas and cross-country ski trails are within easy reach. In summer, the village is a perfect starting point for walks in the surroundings.
