This historical village is famous for fruit growing. One of the most striking elements are its ancient mills.

The Italian name of this village reminds on apple growing, which generates the main income of Pomarolo, but also the cultivation of wine and cherries in the village. Once upon a time also the tobacco of this village was very famous.

In the past Pomarolo was characterised by six mills, the oldest of which dates back to 1259. Once upon a time Pomarolo was also production site of monk frocks. Worth to be visited is also the quarter of Basiano, which is the best preserved one dating back to Roman times.

Also the townhall buildings as well as the San Cristoforo church are worth to be noticed in a sightseeing tour in the village, as the church hosts the most important organ of the entire valley. Another church you should visit is the San Rocco church, dating back to the year 1636. This building hosts some precious pieces of art by local artists.
