Trambileno

Trambileno presents several memories of the First World War.

Trambileno consists of a high elevated plain that is composed of thirteen component localities. The villages emerged from Mediaeval farms, the seat of the town hall is, indeed, Moscheri.

Particularly worth to be noticed, especially due to its position, is the pilgrimage church Madonna delle Salette, that was built in the style of the French La Salette chapel. A further sight is the fortress Forte Pozzacchio, the last but incomplete construction of the Austro-Hungarian army in WWI. Particularly worth noticing at this building is that it arose from excavations at Monte Pasubio. Nevertheless its dimensions are remarkable. To clarify, this striking fortification was grubbed out of a rock spur of the spurs of Monte Pasubio.

From the village of Boccaldo you can reach the Rifugio Lancia, a mountain hut that is located about 12 km away. This mountain hut represents an ideal starting point for hikes on the Pasubio, a mountain that was destroyed by bombings in the war. Today nature at these slopes slowly starts reawakening.
