Cagnò

The charming village of Cagnò is located between the Valle della Piole valley and the deep gorge of the Pescara river.

Cagnò has largely preserved its late mediaeval character due to the harmonic integration of mansions that have been constructed in the course of time. Moreover in the 19th century reconstruction works were carried out, constituting a more modern character of the village along the main road.

The village is located at the foot of Monte Ozol and includes buildings with stone portals, cement houses, ferric buildings and several featuring more modern construction materials. The municipal territory is devided in four quarters, at the centre of which there is a place boasting great historical buildings with stone portals and wooden elements.

This is also where the San Valentino parish church is located. This church dates back to the 17th century and has been enlarged in 1885. Particularly worth to be visited is the altarpiece as well as the two residences De Pretis. Cagnò itself has already been settled in prehistoric times, thanks to its mild climate and in Mediaeval times thanks to its favourable location.
