Coredo
A place of peace and serenity amidst lovely natural sceneries, this is Coredo in the heart of the Val di Non valley.
Located at 830 m asl at the heart of the Val di Non valley, Coredo with its 1,500 inhabitants towers on a high sunny plateau with hundreds of apple trees spread across its slopes. Numerous hiking trails and paths take you to the surrounding woods and meadows and to little ponds - the ideal place for relaxing days in the great outdoors.
In order to experience diversity of nature we recommend you to hike to the plant monuments of Coredo, in other words to the centuries-old trees which have witnessed much of the history of the village and the valley. And for the gourmets: Coredo is not only area of cultivation of the famous Melinda apples, but also the Mortandela (not to be confused with the popular mortadella), a typical local product and protected slow food, coming from this place.
Those interested in culture might visit the nearby Coredo Castle and Castle Bragher or the residence Palazzo Nero. The latter features the ancient “Sala del Giudizio”, one of the most valuable frescoes all over the Trentino region. Worth to be visited is also the pilgrimage site San Romedio, the old Venecian sawmill, the wooden museum, the museum of traditional costumes in the mansion Casa Marta and many other cultural places of interests. However, for the little ones in the locality of Predaia there is the so called “Predaia Park”, a fun park pleasantly surrounded by meadows.
Only a stone’s throw from Coredo, there is also a little skiing area on the Mendola mountain, Predaia - Monte Nock - Monte Roen.
