Cunevo

Cunevo is specialised in apple growing and is located on the right riverside of the Noce river in the plain of Contà.

With the villages Flavon and Terres, Cunevo is also known under the name “Contà”. “Contà” refers to the oldest county of the entire Trentino, who was in possession of the counts of Flavon.

Worth to be noticed is the San Lorenzo church, dating back to the 13th century, equipped with a Renaissance stone portal. This portal reveals various figures as well as the year 1559, which marks the end of the first renovation period. In the centre of the village, in 1850 a slightly larger church has been built.

In the southern part of Cunevo there is the majestic La Santa Castle, while remainings of Corona Castle can be admired on the road to Alpe Arza alpine pasture, inside a grotta. This structure, once upon a time built for military purposes, is particularly impressive as it has been built into a rock cave.

The refuge at Alpe Arza, however, is a perfect starting point for exploring the surrounding mountains on foot, particularly towards the Valle di Tovel valley.
