Daone is one of the oldest villages of the Valli Giudicarie, from this place you can reach the famous Adamello glacier.
Daone is located in a rather sheltered position and boasts vast areas covered by chestnut forests. Daone is located in the homonymous valley taking from Val di Fumo to the Adamello. The landscape that prevails in this area is more than impressive and could be described as wild-romantic. Alpine pastures and lakes alternate and compose a great scenery.
To those who would like to spend active holidays, Daone offers a wide range of possibilities: particularly popular in summertime are hikes in the Adamello Brenta nature park. Those who seek a thrill might want to try ice climbing in winter, which getting more and more popular in the village. Of course you also have to visit the S. Bartolomeo church dating back to the period around 1000. It boasts a columned hall that was used for town meetings in the 14th century. At the town-hall square, there is by the way an enormous tree trunk of a silver fir that was transported from the Malga Boazzo alpine pasture to this place in the year 1955.
