Valle di Primiero
Also known as Valle di Cismon, the Valle di Primiero valley locates in eastern Trentino, in the Dolomites.
The valley includes the municipalities of Fiera di Primiero, Imèr, Mezzano, Siròr, Tonadico and Transacqua and nestles in the southern Dolomites, bordering the province of Belluno. Three big mountain ranges surround the valley: the Lagorai mountains in the west, the Feltrine peaks in the south and the Pale di San Martino mountain group in the north.
The latter hides a large high-altitude plateau in between its more than 3,000 m high mountains. The Lagorai mountains on the border with the valleys Val di Fiemme and Valsugana are made of porhphyry.
In 1967 the Autonomous Province of Trento founded the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park. Besides the Pale di San Martino and Lagorai mountains, the fascinating nature park includes the colourful meadows, woods and pastures of the valleys Val Canali, the Vanoi Valley and Val Venegia.
