Adamello Brenta nature park
Of glaciers, lakes, woods and pastures
The Adamello-Brenta Nature Park houses the largest protected area within the Trentino region. Located in the west of Trentino, it covers an area of 620 km² and includes such mighty mountains as the Adamello and Brenta massifs. Founded in 1967 by the Autonomous Province of Trentino, it is actually the first Italian nature park, which was enlarged in 1987.
Today the nature park is characterised by more than 50 lakes and the majestic Adamello glacier. The rich fauna includes all kinds of mountain species such as ibexes or brown bears. Rich green woods and pastures, wild fruits, berries and flowers, rare fish and birds have found a home in this unique natural area.
