Hike to the Lake Lagorai

This easy but strenuous hike takes us to Lake Lagorai, the largest lake in the Lagorai chain and a true natural jewel

The Doss dei Laresi is easily accessible by cable car from Cavalese or from the end of the Val di Fiemme valley, as an alternative to the ascent by car. The alpine hut at 1,250 m a.s.l. is the starting point of our hike to Lake Lagorai. The path L06 leads immediately into a dense forest and - after a first ascent - down into the Lagorai Valley. Here it joins the forest path no. 316, which leads through the entire valley.

In the beginning the ascent is easy, but becomes steeper and steeper with time. The porphyry surface on the last km, typical for old military roads, is not very pleasant for our tired legs. But all efforts are forgotten when we reach the plateau where the lake is located. We follow the road further and round the lake on the west side, where we reach a meadow. Time for a picnic and a rest in the nature of the Trentino mountains!

The landscape is typical for the Lagorai group: rough, wild and very impressive. For our way back we take the same route. Alternatively, there is the possibility to hike up to the Bombasel Lakes and the top station of the Cermis Chairlift.
